Department store sets its sights on Norwich

NORWICH – Norwich Supervisor David Law says the town has seen a healthy growth in new businesses this year with the addition of recently-opened Olympia Sports, Lowes, AIM Fitness, which is currently under construction, and Dunkin’ Donuts, which was announced just last week, business seems to be booming throughout the past year.

The newest business will be a Peebles department store in the South Plaza. The plans were received by Law Wednesday, and he says the plans look like Peebles “will be a beautiful store.”

The new department store will occupy the space where Mama Marianna’s once operated in the South Plaza near the Plaza Lanes bowling alley. Renovations will be getting underway in the near future.

Think it will also be great to have another clothing store in Norwich. As I use to live in Oxford so I know there isn\'t any decent clothing stores up there.

I've never heard of it but it sounds interesting. I would welcome another clothing store in the area. Is it a discount store?
