Arts Council hosts "Car Show" next weekend

NORWICH – On Friday, May 25 from 5 to 7 p.m., the Chenango County Council of the Arts will host a public opening reception of an exhibit titled “The Car Show.”  Entries for “The Car Show” come from as far away as California with photographs, paintings, collage and sculptures by various amateur and professional artists.  Local high school students will also have art in the exhibit made from car parts donated by one of the exhibit organizers.

Norwich is the proud host of one of the nation’s best automobile museums and CCCA is pleased to collaborate with them on this new exhibit.  The Northeast Classic Car Museum’s annual exhibit, “The Class of ’57 Had a Dream” opens May 19.  They can be found at 22-26 Rexford Street in Norwich.  Their lobby will also feature some of the entries from the CCCA Car Show exhibit.  Also on May 25, the Norwich Business Improvement Districts’ “Cruise In” will occur from 6 to 8 p.m.  Hot rods from local clubs will be parked on the main street.  Over the Memorial Day weekend visitors can also enjoy the 42nd Annual Central New York Rolling Antiquers Classic Car show at the County Fairgrounds in Norwich.
