SPCA plans Valentine's Fur Ball

NORWICH - Bring your Valentine’s Day sweetheart and join your friends in a gala evening of light gourmet fare, cash bar, live music and dance on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Chenango County SPCA’s 3rd Annual Fur Ball. The Canasawacta Country Club will be decked out with hearts, flowers and Gund stuffed animals as the SPCA kicks off a year-long celebration of its 100th Anniversary. The SPCA’s Valentine’s Fur Ball is a semi-formal event, black tie optional, to support the SPCA shelter in Norwich. Everyone is invited.

A special new feature of the evening will be the “adoption” of stuffed animals donated by the Gund Foundation to help local children as well as our furry friends at the shelter. At the end of the evening, all of the adopted stuffed animals will be given to the local Catholic Charities for their Crime Victims Program to comfort to children in need. You can “adopt” one of these adorable creatures by participating at the Fur Ball, or by purchasing a Guardian Angel Patron ticket for $100 in advance of the event. A Guardian Angel Patron ticket includes admission to the Fur Ball, an “adopted” stuffed animal and listing in the SPCA’s spring newsletter, The Mew Barker. A regular ticket to the Fur Ball is only $35 per person.
