CHITENANGO – The Cyclones’ “B” team remained undefeated beating Oneida 6-0 in Chittenango.
Gran tBrightman took it to paydirt with 13 seconds remaining in the game from two yards ou tto break a 0-0 tie, and avert overtime. Brightman scored through Cassie Sutton’s blocking.
A 35-yard pass from Nate Ashton to Brad Bishop set up the Cyclones at the Oneida 18. The Indians held inside the 10; a fumble recovery by the Cyclones at the six by Paul Wonka set up the winning touchdown.
The Cyclones mounted a 60-yard drive in the first stanza, only to fumble at the five-yard line. Brightman rushed for 79 tough yards to lead the Cyclones.Brandon Miles, Antonio Loscavio, Bishop, Wonka, Brightman and Tan Weaver played big defense
The Cyclones will play Chittenango, a 22-20 winner over V.V.S., Sunday at Oneida or Waterville.
The Cyclone’ “C” team held opponents scoreless for 32 quarters of football, but fell 6-0 in ‘an exciting overtime loss at Cazenovia, on Sunday.
