Calvary Baptist begins new slate of programs

NORWICH – In a brand new initiative, Calvary Baptist Church is offering several free support programs to help people of all ages and backgrounds better learn how to overcome their problems and gain stronger life experiences.

Professionals and experienced facilitators will be leading four anonymous groups focused on common, and sometimes uncommon, issues related to marriage, recovery and motherhood, along with offering a supervised games and activities group that runs during the seminars, for kids ages three up to those in the fifth grade.

“These programs are not just geared toward people with serious problems,” said Calvary Baptist’s Pastor Brian Conover. “They are also for people who want to fine tune their lives – and we give them the tools to do that.”

Conover said the group seminars are an effort to help all community members, and being part of the congregation at Calvary is not required or relevant. “Our church for a long time has had contact with our community,” said Conover. “With these programs, we want to connect with our community – that is a big difference.”
