Police search for man accused of stabbing his brother

SMITHVILLE – Police are looking for a man responsible for stabbing his brother during an argument Monday. Terry L. Sturdevant Jr., 19, is wanted by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department for stabbing his brother in lower back and then fleeing the scene when police arrived.



Sturdevant Jr. is descrbied as a white male, 5’ 5” tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has red hair and is believed to have fled to Pennsylvania.

The stabbing took place in the Town of Smithville Monday afternoon. The victim was treated by Greene EMS at the scene and was taken to Wilson Hospital, where he was later released.
