Grants target women’s issues in Chenango County

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation for South Central New York will be giving up to $6,000 in grant money this fall.

The grants are specifically designed to target non-profit organizations that benefit women and girls in Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware and Tioga counties.

The foundation strives to award participants who show creativity and the ability to be inventive in order to improve the wellness and prosperity of women and girls. One grant will be up to $3,000, with the other $3,000 to be dispersed in smaller increments.

The Women’s Fund was established within the community foundation in 2002 with a base built upon donations from local and regional women, women’s groups and other businesses. The money that is collected is then put into a grant fund, where it provides assistance to women and girls in the five county region.
