NORWICH – After over a year of long hours and devotion from Agricultural Society Board members and more than 100 volunteers, this year’s Chenango County Fair is predicted to be better than ever.
The fair will take place at the Norwich fairgrounds from Aug. 8-13.
This is the 159th year the fair has brought Chenango County residents the opportunity to enjoy family fun, agricultural awareness, and five days packed full of activities and entertainment.
“This is an event that brings the community together. It acts as a showcase for the agricultural community and shows how important agriculture really is to Chenango County,” said Chenango County Agricultural Society President Mary Weidman.
The fair has always provided diverse entertainment coinciding with the various agricultural programs.
“Agriculture is the foundation of the fair; it has always been that way and hopefully will remain that way,” said Agricultural Society Treasurer Frank Tiffany.
A long-standing fair tradition, The Coleman Brothers will be on hand providing midway excitement for all ages. The Coleman Brothers are celebrating 91 years in the carnival industry. Starting out owning nothing more than a steam operated merry-go-round, the family business has devoted itself to ensure quality family entertainment for nearly a century.
