‘06 Flood Disaster infrastructure repair:
• Road crews continue repairing damages to county Routes 34 and 4.
• Public Works Director Randy Gibbon said contracts with private contractors were being lined up to do necessary additional work.
• Federal Emergency Management representatives met with Gibbon in Norwich on Friday to assess specific road work.
New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford:
• A $64.5 million total rebuild of the New York State Veteran’s Home in Oxford is well underway, though local officials there were unable to provide an update on developments.
• The project is paid for using a mix of funds from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the New York State Dormitory Authority.
