Ex-pastor admits rape

NORWICH – Dressed in red and white stripes and handcuffed before Judge W. Howard Sullivan on Friday, the ex-pastor of a Sherburne church admitted having sexual relations with a 15-year-old former parishioner. His one sentence admittance capped more than three months of searching for and prosecution of Lewis Lee, the former church leader.

“I was intimate with the young lady,” Lee told the court.

For pleading guilty to seven counts of rape in the third degree, a felony, Lee will receive 9-and-a-third to 28 years in state prison. The sentence will run concurrent with whatever time he is given from federal courts for charges faced there.
