Terry D. Shufelt


Terry D. Shufelt, 73, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the home of his daughter in Norwich, NY.
Terry was born on November 30, 1951, in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Duane and Jean Crisfield Shufelt. He lived a life dedicated to family, community, and service.
Terry was a proud graduate of Cincinnatus Central School in 1969, furthering his education with an Associate’s Degree from SUNY Delhi and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. His career spanned over 30 years as a truck driver for Fuller Sand & Gravel in Taylor, NY, where he was known for his reliability and dedication to his work. Prior to working for Fuller’s, Terry had worked as a farmer.
A man of many talents, Terry enjoyed cultivating his garden and canning the fruits of his labor, sharing the bounty with those he loved. He enjoyed driving his tractor and participating in plow days with his fellow tractor enthusiasts, creating lasting memories and friendships. Terry was also a long-time member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Keri (James) Wright of Norwich; his brother, Richard Shufelt of Solon; his stepbrother, Richard (Jackie) Crane of Little York, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will deeply miss his presence.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepbrother, Tom Crane.
A period of visitation will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A brief prayer service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Terry may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
