Paul J. Del Fuoco


Paul J. Del Fuoco, 97, of Sherburne, NY passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 3, 1924 in Lynn, MA, a son of the late Venanzio and Sophia Del Fuoco. He was a graduate of local schools and the Boston University School of Management. On September 17, 1949 he was united in marriage to Frances Wozny in Westborough, MA, a blessed and loving union of 72 years. They moved to Sherburne in 1949 where Paul was the Assistant Treasurer for the Animal Foundation, Inc. In 1955, he joined the Norwich Pharmacal Co. where he served as Manager, Treasurer, Vice President of Finance and then as Vice President of Treasury Operations for Proctor & Gamble until retiring in 1989.
Paul’s Catholic faith was a cornerstone in his life. He was a devoted communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne, where he served as a Lector, Eucharist Minister, Finance Chairman, Chairman of the capital fund drive to repair the church and the Heritage Campaign. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight, Past Grand Knight and Financial Secretary for the Sherburne Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre.
Paul’s commitment to his community, county and the surrounding area was ever-present in his associations with local organizations. He had served as President of the Sherburne-Earlville School Board, was Chairman of the Chenango County Industrial Development Corp., Treasurer of the Chenango County Area Corp., President and Finance Chairman of Chenango County Catholic Charities and a Board member of the Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Syracuse.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Frances; his children, Ann and Henry Campbell of Sherburne, NY; Claire and William Moon of Syracuse, NY; William and Linda Del Fuoco of S. New Berlin, NY; Matthew and Renie Del Fuoco of Norwich, NY; Michael and Cris Del Fuoco of Cicero, NY; a sister, Mary Lambert of Lynn, MA; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Beach, a grandson, Timothy Del Fuoco; brothers, Albert, William and Romeo Del Fuoco; sisters, Julia Fusco and Olympia Robinson.
A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Malachy’s Church with interment in St. Malachy’s Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
