OXFORD — With the growing season hitting its stride, vendors at the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday will have an abundance of freshly harvested fruits and vegetables in addition to local meats and cheeses; a wide selection of fresh baked breads, pies, cookies, and scones; locally-grown and milled grains and flours, as well as granolas and crackers made with those grains; local syrup and honey; jams, salsas, and pestos; local hard ciders; and artisan crafts, including hand-sewn aprons and kitchen items, artwork, cards, and hand-carved spoons.
And local performer, Joe Lombardi performing in the bandstand. Lombardi entertains crowds with old country, 50’s, vintage classics, and favorites ranging from Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley to Perry Como.
The Market is open from 9 a.m. to noon in Lafayette Park, with live music starting at 10 a.m. All events at the Market are free and open to the public.
Following the Market on Saturday, a Benefit for David Benedict, “Celebrating the Mighty Oak," will be held in the Oxford Tavern parking lot from 12 to 5 p.m., with food, auction, raffles, music, bike run games, and more.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., Six On The Square will be opening the first of its three free concerts in Lafayette Park with the wildly popular Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Not to be missed.
