NORWICH– The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team had its chances on offense, but could not make the comeback as they lost 17-10 to Chenango Forks. This was the final regular season game for Norwich before heading to the playoffs.

After Forks scored four runs in the top half of the second inning, Norwich decided to get the bats going themselves. They scored seven runs, including a two-run single to center field from Drew Brooks and a two-run infield single from Zach Parker. Parker finished with four RBIs on the day.

Teammate Nick Ragonese went 2-for-3 with two singles in the first and collected two RBIs.

Norwich racked up 12 hits in the game but could not keep Chenango Forks off the board.

Section IV playoffs start next week and Norwich should know who they’ll be playing by the end of this week.
