Dougher’s Big Night Leads Tornado Past Warriors

BINGHAMTON- On Wednesday night, the Purple Tornado extended their latest winning streak to three games.

Norwich senior Margaret Dougher drained five trifectas on her way to scoring a game high 27 points in the Purple and White’s latest 66-26 win over the Chenango Valley Warriors.

From the outset, Norwich was in full control as Dougher scored 10 first quarter points along with teammate Cameron VanHouten pitching in all six of her points to take a 19-5 advantage by conclusion of the opening quarter. From there, the Tornado were in full control outscoring CV 47-21 over the final three periods, along with NHS canning 11 trifectas in the game.

The Norwich defense stifled the Chenango Valley Warriors offense all game long as the host Warriors failed to put together a double-digit scoring quarter. Warriors junior point guard Tessa McEnaney scored a team high 10 points for Chenango Valley.
