SHERBURNE- Greene’s Nate Parker proved to be an unstoppable dynamo for the visiting Trojans, scoring 43 points and willing his team to a Mid-State Athletic Conference victory over the host Sherburne-Earlville Marauders in an overtime thriller 81-78.

In the first 16 minutes of play, the duo of Greene’s Parker and Trent Rapp combined for 27 of their team’s 31 first half points. Parker and Rapp demonstrated great offensive prowess as Sherburne-Earlville took their time to get into their own offensive rhythm. The Marauder’s Brock Weidman scored 16 points in the half- with 12 of those points coming off of three-point baskets as teammate Robert Hill contributed six points to cut into Greene’s lead 31-22 by halftime.

Out of the break, the Marauders mounted their offensive attack. Knocking down three three-pointers in the quarter- two from Taylor Grzymkowski and one from Brock Weidman, allowing Greene’s defense to extend towards S-E’s shooters. This allowed Marauder’s center Robert Hill a chance to leave his mark in the game; as he scored eight points in the interior.

But Greene wouldn’t go away so easily, as Nate Parker scored seven points in the third for Greene; trading baskets with the Sherburne-Earlville squad all the way until the fourth quarter. Entering the final stanza, the Trojan’s lead 48- 40.
