NORWICH – On Friday the Chenango County Department of Health reported a patient who had tested positive for COVID-19 had visited local bars while they were likely contagious, and officials are warning others may be at risk.

“We interviewed a positive person this morning. In the interview we identified they visited two local establishments during the infectious period,” said Director Environmental Health and Code Enforcement Isaiah Sutton. “Anyone at these establishments at these times is asked to monitor their symptoms and contact their health provider if any symptom presents itself.”

He said the person had visited two bars last weekend on Saturday, July 18.
