B-G falls to Delhi, OV’s golden goal takes down Lancers

GREENE – Greene hosted Afton/Harpursville under the lights on Tuesday for the Trojans’ senior game. While it was a night to recognize the eight soon-to-be graduates on Greene’s roster, it was the underclassman that led the Trojans’ to a 5-0 win over the Crimson Knights.

Greene’s Scout McCumiskey opened up the scoring with a shot from eight yards out the went into the the side net with 29:06 left on the clock in the first period.

Teammate Calob Davenport netted a goal with just over three minutes remaining in the first, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead at the break.

Needing just eight minutes in the second half, McCumiskey scored his second goal of the contest to hold a three goal margin for the home team.

Two of Greene’s seniors rounded out the scoring. Robert Champlain put a penalty shot into the back of the net for the fourth tally of the contest and Nick Shoemaker added the final goal with 57 second left in the contest.

Shoemaker started the game between the posts as he is the Trojans’ starting keeper but finished the game on the field and scored his second goal of the season.

Afton/Harpursville took their lone shot of the match in the second half and gave Greene’s backup keeper, Kolby Finch, the save.

The Crimson Knights’ goalie Riley Livermore recorded 12 stopped shots in the loss.
