NORWICH – According to a representative from Norwich’s Olympia Sports, the store is scheduled to close towards the end of September with no word as to why from corporate officials.

The store located at 5631 NY-12 in Norwich currently has a store closing banner on the front of the building, and a store representative said there won’t be any major closing deals while it remains open.

The representative said while officials haven’t cited a specific reason the store is closing, issues related to a recent increase in rent may have had an impact on the store’s ability to stay in the area. (Zachary Meseck photo)
