BINGHAMTON – A no-knock search warrant execution on Dec. 17, 2018 in the City of Norwich resulted in federal charges against a Norwich man last Tuesday, and now he is expected to face 20 years to life in prison.

Corey A. Weidman, 35, of Norwich, was originally charged in Chenango County Court with first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

After the case was transferred to a federal court, Weidman was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crime in federal court.

A court document states Weidman will receive a sentence of 20 years to life in prison on the new charges, with a maximum fine of $10,250,000. It adds that Weidman will have to turn over $35,570 in cash, two scales, a vacuum sealer, and a handgun seized at the time of his arrest.
