Upcoming Women’s Health Talk To Focus On Heart Palpitations
Published: June 14th, 2019

NORWICH – Have you ever felt a flutter in your chest? Or your heart race? If so, you’ve likely experienced heart palpitations first hand, according to an area cardiologist.

Event organizers said Dr. James O’Brien of UHS Cardiology Norwich will speak on the topic in a presentation at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 at Bohemian Moon, 103 W. Main Street in Norwich. The program is part of UHS Chenango Memorial’s 2019 Women’s Health Series, held monthly at the Norwich restaurant.

“One in three people has one or more irregular heartbeats per hour,” explained O’Brien. “Sometimes these mean nothing, but they could be a sign of a serious underlying cardiac condition.”

“I will discuss a number of the lesser known causes of heart palpitations, as well as why women are at risk in particular,” O’Brien said.
