GREENSBORO, NC – The 2018 New Balance Nationals Outdoor, the 28th edition of the outdoor meet took place this past weekend, June 15-17 at Aggies Stadium on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University in Greenesboro, NC.

Four boys from the Norwich Track and Field team spent their day traveling down to the championship meet to race in two different events as a team and one event for an individual competitor.

Seeing this setting for the second year in a row, Zack Race was joined by relay teammates Eric Conant, Gabe Gawronski, and David Berger.

The group qualified through out the season in the 4x200 relay and the sprinter medley relay events for the Emerging Elite division of the meet.

The sprinters medley relay race is an event that is 800 meters in distance, spilt between the four runners. Running out of the starting blocks, the first competitor sprints 200 meters before handing the baton off to his teammate.

The next runner handles the curve heading into the front straightaway for 100 meters and passes the baton to the next member of the relay. That person dashes down the lane for another 100 meters before exchanging the baton for the final time.
