NORWICH – For the second year, Savannah William’s family and friends invite you to play at the Savannah M. Williams Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser Golf Tournament. The tournament will take place, this Saturday, June 9 at the Canasawacata Country Club in Norwich.

Williams tragically died in a car accident on December 20, 2016. The memorial tournament reminds many of how much she enjoyed life.

Her family invites you to the same in the four-player, captain and crew style of play.

Currently, the golf tournament has 22 teams filled of the 36 allowance and committee members are seeking to fill the final 14 spots.

The tournament serves as a fundraising event for the Savannah Marie Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will be awarded annually to two graduating-Norwich seniors who share similar passions as did Savannah: an aspiration to contribute to the science world, a commitment to community and education, and a passion for athletics.

“Last year’s fundraising efforts – a bottle drive, the golf tournament, picnic and a motorcycle ride – was enough to be able to provide this scholarship for years to come,” said Shari Williams, Savannah’s mother.
