NEW BERLIN – Limiting the visiting Lady Warriors to just two run through the first four innings, the Unadilla Valley Storm had the game within in reach. Scoring one in the bottom of the fourth, UV trailed 2-1. That was until Sidney opened up their lead with seven runs in the top of the fifth and left the Storm unable to recover in their 12-5 loss to the Warriors Monday.

Sidney tacked on three more in the top of the sixth, taking a 12-1 advantage with just an inning and a half for UV to attempt a comeback.

Unadilla Valley tallied one run in the bottom of the sixth, wishing it was the start to something big with their high scoring offense of late.

As the Storm defense shut down the Lady Warriors in the top of the seventh, UV looked to their big bats to produce enough runs to tie or take the win late in the game.

Down to two outs early in the seventh, the hopes of the Storm dwindled.

Mia Stirone was hit by a pitch, giving UV their first base runner of the game. Stirone, with an aggressive strategy on the bases, scored on passed ball after stealing second and third during J Lopez’ at-bat. Lopez walked and Regan Sabines stepped up to the plate.
