NORWICH – The opening track meet of the 2016 season for the Norwich Purple Tornado proved to be beneficial to all despite the girls dropping a big loss.

“The girls are still a very young team as well. A lot of girls are coming up and even though we didn’t get a lot of wins tonight, individual performances for the girls are actually pretty good,” said Norwich head coach Shaun Horan.

The boys side for Norwich saw them earn the eventual win over Cazenovia at a team score of 79 to 62. The Norwich boys saw Norwich earn a first place finish in 11 out of the 17 total events.

Impressively, the Norwich boys 4x100 meter relay team, comprised of Berger, Race, Walsh, and Conant, ran a meet winning time of 46.5 to open the season.
