NPD, Fugitive Task Force continue search for Jenkins

NORWICH – The New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force continues its search for a parole absconder by the name of Devon Jenkins.

The Task Force checked several locations early Wednesday morning within the City of Norwich in an attempt to locate Jenkins.

According to authorities, Jenkins had been in the Department of Corrections and was released early and given conditions to follow, under DOC supervision and parole. Police said he violated these conditions and therefore a warrant for his arrest has been issued by the Department of Corrections.

Jenkins is described as 6 feet tall and 230 pounds.

Jenkins, born in April of 1980, was previously sentenced to four years in prison for criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; and attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class D felony. This took place in Broome County.

He was received into the Department of Corrections on Oct. 10, 2014 and was released early on parole by Aug. 22, 2014.

Detective-Sergeant Reuben Roach said, “Do not attempt to take the subject into custody yourself. If you are to come across him, please call the authorities immediately.”
