Fiber Farmers At The Oxford Farmers’ Market
Published: June 26th, 2015

OXFORD – Yet another very interesting morning is promised for the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday, June 27th. Do you wear clothing? Then you wear fiber, and for over two centuries a variety of fibers have been produced on local farms. Local artisans still are spinning yarns, weaving cloth, and making clothing from socks to hats from fibers grown locally.

What are these fibers and what are the steps in producing clothing from crops grown in our fields? At a visit to the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday you will see materials, displays, and live demonstrations showing how the crops and skills needed to produce a fine hat or shirt have continued to this day.
