Sidney 7, Norwich 2

SIDNEY – Norwich gave up a one-run lead in the second after committing miscues on a pair of Sidney bunts in Saturday's non-league defeat.

The Warriors plated four runs in their second at-bat, and rode out the strong pitching of Zak Green. Green struck out 10 in six innings for the win, and added a key RBI triple in the sixth to extend the Sidney advantage.

"Those mistakes in the second inning really cost us," said Norwich coach Rich Turnbull. "We had settled down and were starting to feel good about ourselves, then Green hit an absolute rope that took the wind out of our sails."

Norwich scored an unearned run in the first when Chris Trevisani singled, and scored after two passed balls. Chris Jeffrey doubled in the seventh and scored Norwich's second run.
