Community unites to aid victims of South Otselic fire

SOUTH OTSELIC – The First Baptist Church of South Otselic and the Common Grounds Fellowship of Beaver Meadow have combined their efforts to bring relief to the families displaced by Sunday’s devastating fire in the “Cox block” building in South Otselic.

Through their concerted efforts, these two churches are hoping to collect both money and household item donations for the families that experienced loss this holiday season.

Mitch Mullenax, pastor at the Common Grounds Fellowship in Beaver Meadow, has set up an account to collect financial donations. Checks can be made payable to South Otselic Fire Relief and can be sent c/o The Common Grounds Fellowship, 112 Church St., Beaver Meadow NY, 13832.

In regards to the cash donations, Mullenax said, “One of the things we want people to know is that this fund is not being managed by one person, but by a group of people – including the fire chief – and that all gifts are tax deductible.”
