NORWICH – Former teaching assistant and Norwich swim coach Jonathan L. Aikins has completed his sentence in state prison for one count of unlawful surveillance, a class E felony. He was scheduled to appear in Chenango County Court Thursday for a sex offender risk level determination hearing.

In April 2012, Aikins was sentenced to one to three years for his unlawful surveillance of an unknown number of female students in a Norwich High School locker room over the course of six months in 2011.

Aikins pleaded guilty to one count as part of an agreed upon disposition with the District Attorney’s Office. He was initially facing four counts which could have resulted in a 16-year sentence.
