Oxford Library hosts series of Family Fun Nights, activities

OXFORD – The Oxford Memorial Library will hold its January Family Night and Story Time on starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 9. Story time favorite “Diesel” Dan Wilcox will be presenting a fun-filled nonsensical program on hats at no cost. The program will consist of finger plays, crowd participation action rhymes and of course a special hat craft.

Said Oxford Memorial Library Director Nancy Wilcox, “‘Diesel Dan’ is one of the community's favorite story time readers. The kindergarten and first grade classes at Oxford Academy have always enjoyed when he comes in to read. He is a lot of fun, the kids love him and a great big kid himself.”

The Oxford Memorial Library – located at 8 Fort Hill Park – has a special Family Night the second Thursday of every month to help keep families involved in the community.

“Mark your calendars now as you won’t want to miss a single one,” added Wilcox.

The library is also showing movies for area children out from school session on winter recess. Monday, Dec. 30 the new Disney film “Planes” will be shown for free in the Community and Youth Services Room.
