OXFORD – Of Oxford’s 857 eligible voters, 295 took to the polls Tuesday in an attempt to make their voices heard regarding the village’s mayor, two board of trustee spots and the village justice. 285 votes were cast by machine and ten sent in by absentee ballot. In the 2011 election, only 106 voters showed up to weigh-in and in 2010, only 58 residents voted - making this year’s turn-out a rather substantial one.

The Commissioners of the Chenango County Board of Elections have tallied the votes and incumbent mayor Terry M. Stark received 190 votes, securing his seat – a position he has held since 2002.
