NORWICH – The Norwich division of the Tea Party Patriots will come together from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in West Park in the City of Norwich Saturday to commemorate the party’s fourth anniversary with additional emphasis on the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act.

The gathering, dubbed the Stand UP for Our Rights Tax Day Rally, will feature a host of guest speakers, including John Wallace, radio host, gun advocate and coordinator of Oathkeepers for New York; 122 District Assemblyman Clifford Crouch; constitutional attorney James Sacco; Robert Lawrence, national defense expert for Protect America Today; Meredith George, NY representative for Parental Rights.org; Tea Party Coordinator Mike Kicinski; NY Liberty Coalition Consultant Earl Wallace; and Clare Daly of NY Right to Life.

The demonstration will also include refreshments and parody music performed by Peg Roberts and the Patriotic Hotties, to take place rain or shine.

“Ever since the SAFE Act was passed, people are really waking up and I’m seeing a big increase in support for what we are doing,” said Norwich Tea Party spokesperson Gilda Ward, noting that the rally marks the first big event of the year for the political affiliation. “This is our anniversary of our founding, and that’s important to celebrate. It’s very important for us to get out into this community, to show that we’re still very active and to stand up for what we believe in.”
