Otselic Valley Drama Club presents “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood”

OTSELIC VALLEY – The Otselic Valley Drama Club will present Mary Lynn Dobson’s comedic take on the classic tale of Robin Hood, “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood,” with show times at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Otselic Valley Junior-Senior High School’s Multi-Purpose Room.

Tickets for the show, which Faculty Advisor Michael Foor-Pessin described as “the Monty Python of Robin Hood ... for kids,” are $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for students.

According to Foor-Pessin, the loss of several experienced, seasoned actors and crew members – those who graduated in 2012 – has presented the biggest challenge so far, although it’s also an opportunity for a new group of aspiring thespians to take the stage.

“It’s a young cast,” he added. “We have several guys playing major roles who have never acted before and it’s a real challenge, which is why we picked a comedy. I think a lighter touch was in order.”
