NORWICH – Norwich stopped a three-game losing streak winning for the first time this season on Thursday. Taylor had eight kills, 8 aces, and three blocks in the Tornado’s sweep of the Blue Devils, 28-17, 25-22, 25-13.

Katie Callahan had six aces and picked up a team-best five helpers. “The girls played to their potential tonight, and had a great time doing it,” said Norwich coach Shelly Alger. “Taylor was solid tonight in the middle, and Katie had a hot hand with her serving.”

Norwich: Taylor Cook, 8 aces, 8 kills, 3 blocks; Katie Callahan 6 aces, 5 assists; Jacasa Currie, Kat DeTomi-- 2 digs; Caitlyn Brown, 4 assists.

Chenango Forks: Rachel Serva, 7 kills, 4 aces; Morgan Lindow, 4 digs; Destani Kuzma, 6 assists.

JV: CF won 2-1.

Sidney 3, Unadilla Valley 1

SIDNEY – Unbeaten Sidney overcame Unadilla Valley’s fast start to win in four games Thursday, 15-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-17.

Paige Redmond had 18 assists for Sidney, while Taylor Krom and Tori Seymour finished with six kills apiece. “We got off to a rough start, but once we made some good passes, we were able to play our game,” said Sidney coach Paul Sims.

UV (2-3) had five kills each from Shannon McIntyre and Haley Benson.
