Owego 6, Norwich 1

OWEGO – Norwich dropped its second 6-1 final in as many days as it rounds out a tough back-to-back start to the season.

Junior Jennifer Borfitz garnered the Tornado’s lone win of the day winning at first singles over Kyra Thalacker, 7-5, 6-4. “I felt Owego was a little stronger overall than Seton Catholic Central, and they always have some good doubles teams,” said Norwich coach John Stewart. “We’ve just played the two toughest teams we’ll see. We should be competitive the rest of the season, and hopefully, be on the other side of the win-loss column.”
