Corbin returns to Bainbridge for 50th Annual Gen. Clinton Regatta

BAINBRIDGE – Perennial General Clinton Canoe Regatta champion, Serge Corbin, from Lac a la Tortue, Quebec, Canada is returning to the local waters for the 50th annual regatta.

Corbin has entered the 70-mile pro class, and will put his undefeated straight of 28 wins in 28 starts on the line. Corbin, now 55, has not raced in the General Clinton Canoe Regatta since 2005. Corbin had never been beaten in the Clinton 70 mile race and also set the record time in 1990 with partner Bruce Barton. Corbin will be partnering with Steve Corlew of Michigan in this year’s race. The 70-mile pro class starts in Cooperstown at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 28, and finishes in Bainbridge at General Clinton Park sometime after 2 p.m. depending on water levels.
