Cyclones’ B, C Teams Pick Up Wins

ONEIDA – The Norwich Cyclones “B” team played “Kayahoora” (West Canada) at Oneida on Saturday night, and came away with a 30-6 win in Pop Warner action.

Marcus Benjamin scored on a two-yard touchdown run, Owen Blackman set up a Jonathan Heggie 20-yard TD jaunt, Payton Stirone scored on a one-yard TD run and Zachery Race raced 70 yards for another TD. Cameron Ivan kicked three out of four two-point extra point placements.

On defense, Ty Rifanburg had an interception, with Andrew Jackson, Benjamin, Stirone, and Robert Shepard playing big defense.

On Sunday in a battle of undefeated teams, the Cyclone “C” team downed Rome 12-6.

The Cyclones went on top on a five-yard TD pass from Tom Parrella to JT Vinal with 40 seconds remaining in the first half. Drew Walsh scored on a one-yard run in the fourth to seal a big win for the Cyclones.
