NORWICH – Last year, the first-ever Beadle’s Lounge Earth Day Celebration raised nearly $2,000 for the city’s youth bureau and the numerous programs it offers. This time around, Beadle’s Lounge owner Gary Beadle said he’d like to top that number.

The second annual Beadle’s Lounge Earth Day Celebration will kick off at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Beadle’s Lounge, 15 Lackawanna Ave., and will once again feature a full day of musical entertainment, a pair of 50/50 raffles, door prizes and – of course – Beadle’s renowned barbecue chicken dinner.

Admission for the event is $10 – which includes the barbecue dinner – and Beadle’s Earth Day T-shirts will sell for $12 all day. All proceeds from the dinner and T-shirt sales will benefit the City of Norwich Youth Bureau.

“It’s a great cause and it’s something that’s really important to us,” stated Beadle. “It’s too bad, but there are a lot of kids out there who don’t necessarily have a chance to enjoy the kinds of activities the Youth Bureau offers. If we can help out in any way with that, then it’s good for both the kids and the community.”
