Fire Police hold annual banquet, awards

The Chenango County Fire Police Association held its annual dinner at Fred’s Inn in Norwich Saturday night. President Rick McConnell, center, honored two members with awards during the ceremonies – William Ahearn of Preston, left, was named Fire Police Person of the Year, and Mike Stensland of Gilbertsville, right, was honored with the Lifetime Membership Award. Altogether, the county association’s members donated more than 1,900 hours of volunteer service to the community, directing traffic and ensuring public safety for several different public events.
