Storm, Bobcats play to tie

Boys’ Soccer

Unadilla Valley 0, B-G 0

NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley keeper Tom Wallace stopped a B-G breakaway late in regulation, and came up with a big save in overtime to preserve a scoreless tie Tuesday afternoon.

UV had most of its best scoring chances prior to overtime, said head coach Ryan Houck. “We had some nice shot opportunities, but couldn’t put it in the back of the net,” he said. “Both teams played in spurts. When we were pushing the ball up and playing hard, we were the more dominant team. When we laid back, they marched up against us.”

UV (2-5-1) is at Delhi Thursday.

Greene 2, Walton 1 (OT)

GREENE – Greene outlasted a much-improved Walton club winning in overtime Tuesday for its seventh win in eight games.

Alex Driscoll took a deflection off the Walton keeper and scored at the 2:12 mark of the first overtime. “I expected (Walton) to be improved, and they have a good system in place,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “When we got the ball into their defensive third, they compacted it quite a bit, and it was difficult to work it through.”

Walton’s Brendan Chambers tallied first only to be answered by Greene’s Mark Day off a Pat Daniel pass.

Greene hosts Sidney Saturday at 10 a.m.
