Greene Village Trustees Adopt $1.34 Million Budget

GREENE – The Village of Greene Board of Trustees adopted its 2008-09 budget following a public hearing Tuesday. The total general fund amount is $995,214, according to village officals.

That’s an increase of $20,221, or 2 percent, over last year. The general fund tax levy is $418,360.

The result is a village tax rate of $11.47 per $1,000 of assessed value, up a nickel over last year from $11.42.

The increase is attributed to a $40,192 rise in benefits, contingency and reserve spending.

• Personal services spending decreased by $19,971.

• The water fund decreased by $988, to $147,251.
