"Spectacular" lineup of musicians planned for Colorscape

NORWICH – This weekend, the 12th Colorscape Chenango festival takes place in downtown Norwich, featuring a slew of creative arts and artists ranging from the visual to the instrumental and even the culinary. The festival is free and open to all who wander amid East and West parks.

This year’s show features 13 main musical artists, each group bringing its own distinctive sound and personality to the audience. Acts include a mix of Celtic, jazz, bluegrass, a cappella, rock n’ roll, and acoustical singer-songwriters. This year’s lineup of performers is promising to be one of the more spectacular, said Entertainment Director Ken Millett. “We are looking forward to one of our best shows ever,” Millett said. “We have some great performances.”

Millet has developed strong relationships with several of the musicians, “I’ve worked with these people for years,” said Millett, who also runs a local performance venue in the Village of Oxford called the Night Eagle Cafe, which routinely plays host to nationally renowned artists.

“You’re lucky to have him,” said David Tamulevich of Millett. Tamulevich is a performing artist in the band Mustard’s Retreat and agent for the Gandalf Murphy’s Slambovian Circus of Dreams band, both of whom will be featured this weekend.
