WALTON – Coming off a hard loss to Afton, the Greene Trojans baseball team quickly bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Walton/Downsville. The Trojans also picked up their third win of the season.

Greene got on the board early and added on in the latter part of the game. Jackson Roth scored the first run of the game on a steal of home as he led off the inning with a single. The Trojans added on in the fourth as Cooper Davis was hit by the pitch and Aiden Carter doubled to put them in good scoring position. Davis scored on a sacrifice bunt by Trent Drew, when the defense decided to get the out at first instead of throwing to home.

Greene plated its final two runs in the top of the sixth inning off an error and an RBI single from Parker Flanagan, who was also phenomenal on the mound. Flanagan allowed one run to score in the bottom of the seventh while working on a pick off attempt. Flanagan allowed just one hit, walked two, and struck out 14 batters in the win.
