SAUQUOIT – Coming off two big wins against Norwich and Waterville, the Sherburne-Earlville softball team headed to play in its fourth straight road game at Sauquoit Valley. Both teams scored two runs early on, which turned Wednesday’s match-up into a pitchers’ duel through five scoreless innings, sending the game to extras.

Fisher and the Timberwolves’ offense stood their ground and the offense scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to win 4-2. S-E is now 7-1 on the season.

S-E got the game started right as Reagan Krueger led the first inning off with a single and Jeanine Chamberlain followed through with another single. Krueger came in to score on Haleigh Fisher’s groundout RBI. Sauquoit Valley took a brief 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run double.

S-E tied things up right away in the second as Chesnee Miller led off with a single, stole second, advanced to third, and scored on a wild pitch.
