BAINBRIDGE – Coming off winning the Spring Fling Tournament, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team returned home on Tuesday to face the Sidney Sabers. B-G rolled on with a 4-2 victory and are 7-0 to start the season. The Bobcats are tied for first place in the MAC, along with Deposit-Hancock.

Sidney put their two runs on the board in the first inning, which were unearned runs, as one runner had reached base on an error and one was a steal of home. Sidney held that lead up until the bottom of the fifth inning. B-G answered back with one run in the bottom of the fourth off Emma Kinter’s RBI single.

B-G tied it up in the bottom of the fifth as Brenna George led-off with a single, stole second and third, and came in to score on Alessandra Cafasso’s RBI single. Danica Park followed with a single to load the bases. Jayslin Henderson brought home the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice and Kaylin Furgason had a two-out RBI single to bring in the final run. Furgason and George both led the Bobcats with two hits and George had a total of three stolen bases.

From there, Gabby Cuozzo and the B-G defense kept Sidney from striking back. Cuozzo allowed two runs on five hits, walked three, and struck out seven batters in the win.
