It's a beautiful November day and we are going shopping downtown. Must  call Smiths Taxi and spend 50 cents to get downtown from West Hill.

First stop will be the Imperial Tea Room for my favorite Mexican Sundae. Maybe I'll luck out and have a cherry coke too.

Of to Grants, my favorite store, and go down the stairs to their toy room. Oh my gosh, they got just what I want. A set of Roy Rogers cap guns. Beautiful chrome with pearl handles. What a Birthday this is. I will wear these proudly until they are completely worn out. 

Maybe we will go shopping again soon and visit some other stores.

My husband was one of those Eggleston families and remembers very well all the details that you have stated here....Steve is his cousin so now you know which family he is from...you know my sister in law very well also.....

Yes I can. My gkids didn't know either until I made them one. For those who don't know....a scoop of vanilla ice cream, lots of chocolate syrup and a handful of regular peanuts over the whole thing. Is that how you remember Issy?

Hi Dianne. One of my hobbies is collecting old Norwich stuff. I have a menu from Imperial from 1942. Mexican sundae 15 cents. Some other delights were, Norwich special, Soul Kiss, High School special, Lovers Delight( wonder what this was). Highest price sandwich was 35 cents. Ah, good old days.
