SOUTH NEW BERLIN – With a new week of horseshoes being played, a new winner is welcomed to the top of the leaderboard. For the first time this season, Newton’s Reconditioning takes over first place with a record of 25-7. The team of Linda Ashcraft and John Newton moved up from the fifth position after a week of play.

Week eight of the league was played when the teams were available as the weather watched away their June 13 match date. On June 20, a full slated scheduled was played once again.

Potter’s Tires (Bill Schermerhorn and John Edwards) moved up to second in the standings, switching with Gilligan’s (Mike Mead and Barry Conant). Kelly’s Flowers (Ed Kohler and Lee Coon) continue to hold down fourth place while Lloyd BBQ (George and Jared Hanslmaier) slid four spots on the leaderboard to round out the top five.

Coon continues to take the honors of the highest series of the week, tossing a 273. He took back the high single game bragging rights by ringing up a 100, a 91, and an 82.

Allen Bush of Service Pharmacy finished right behind Coon for the high game honors. By tossing seven consecutive ringers, Bush recorded an 80 for a single game.

Sheryl Rowe of Laughlin’s Lawn Care took both the highest single game and high series scores of week nine, throwing a 66 and 60 single best games and 168 for the high series of the week.
