Norwich welcomes another small business to the community

NORWICH – If you're in the market for unique, affordable gifts, Bumble Bee Baskets might be exactly what you're looking for. According to Owner Melody and her daughter Shantel, they have been in the gift basket making business for a few years now, and are loving it more than ever.

Bumble Bee Baskets originated in Endicott where they have their first location, but after increased interest from northern counties, they knew Norwich was the perfect spot. They create gourmet gift baskets based on their clients' specific design ideas and requests and handpick each item and use unique containers, favorite colors, and personal styles. Each basket is 100% customizable, and they will work with any budget.

Melody says "We ship nation and worldwide, and we have local delivery at both locations." Bumble Bee Baskets provides free delivery to the area hospitals as well.

According to the Bumble Bee Basket website, Melody has gone to floral design school at Lehigh Community College and marketing classes at Penn State University (Fogelsville, Pa campus), while Shantel is currently taking chocolate and confection classes at a Culinary School to get a degree as a chocolatier. In addition to Melody and Shantel, Melody's husband also plays an important role in the business. Melody says he has a business background and is a huge help, whether he's doing deliveries or climbing a ladder to hang baskets.
