SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Marauders boys soccer team played host to the Adirondack Wildcats in Center State Conference action Friday evening.

In a match that was defined by the strength of both club’s defensive skills, there was never a dull moment as the hurried and swift offensive attacks grinded it out at midfield.

With a scoreless first half leaving a mark on the game early, it looked as though whichever team scored first was going to win the game.

With offense coming at a stark cost, Adirondack began to build their attack.

Late in the second half, the Wildcat’s Andy Scouten moved the ball up to teammate Noah Morales at the top of the penalty box. Morales found an opening in the stingy Marauder defense, ripping a shot past S-E goalie Conor Ryan for the one, and only score of the game, providing the final score of 1-0 in the process.

The Marauders return to action after the Columbus Day break on Tuesday, October 10, when they host Canastota for a senior night showdown at Marauder Stadium.
